€�Most propeller designs are conducive to good directional solidification as the hub section is tapered and cast with the large end up. Cooling by water plays an important role in extracting heat from both the mold and solidifying liquid steel during the continuous casting of steel. THESE ARE CAUSED BY LIQUID SHRINKAGE OCCURRING DURING THE SOLIDIFICATION OF THE CASTING. Abstract: The effect of casting parameters such as melt superheat and solidification rate on the microstructure of an experimental Ni-based superalloy made by vacuum melting and investment casting methods was investigated. The turbine blades of a jet engine are cast by solidifying the liquid alloy inside a ceramic mould, which contains cores to facilitate internal cooling channels. Quality of the casting and the casting process is closely related to the influence of the solidification of castings. I am using FLUENT for simulating a continuous casting problem. Due to the low thermal conductivity, wax patterns often encounter improper solidification and sink mark problems. In order to verify the compatibility between reality and simulation, we then simulated the part casting respecting the real conditions in which it was cast. TO COMPENSATE FOR THIS, PROPER FEEDING OF LIQUID METAL IS REQUIRED. These fundamental alterations to the alloy solidification mechanisms result in vastly improved resistance to the typical cast defects detailed above. Substances from liquid into solid process called coagulation. Metal shrinkage occurs when the moltenmetal solidifies, but this shrinkage is compensated by introducing more metal as the casting solidifies. It is characterized by complex boiling phenomena. With larger volumetric shrinkage, wax shrinkage is one of the most vexing problems of investment casting process.
